Elie Saab celebrated its 1,001st season with a dazzling show in Riyadh, featuring performances from global icons like Jennifer Lopez, Céline Dion, Camila Cabello, Nancy Ajram, and Amr Diab. Yet, the night’s standout moment was Halle Berry’s surprise appearance on the catwalk, wearing her unforgettable Elie Saab gown from the 2002 Oscars, where she made history as the first Black woman to win Best Actress.
The dress—a mesh bodice embroidered with florals and a flowing silk-taffeta skirt—remains a red-carpet legend. Reflecting on the moment, Berry shared, “Winning an Academy Award in my Elie Saab gown changed my life forever. Thank you, Mr. Saab, for being a part of the tapestry of my life for 22 years.” Berry revived the look without a single alteration, honoring her long-standing connection with Saab.
The star-studded show featured Céline Dion’s moving performance in a sequined cape gown, Jennifer Lopez’s medley in a crystal-studded bodysuit and feathered boa, and Camila Cabello’s rendition of “Havana” in a floral chiffon gown. The extravagant production rivaled a Victoria’s Secret show, perfectly celebrating Saab’s monumental milestone.
