Lacy Gadegaard-West, founder and CEO of Laced Hair, created a multifaceted brand that has become the go-to hair extensions for celebrities, empowering education for stylists and an uplifting place for women in their fight against hair loss challenges through her nonprofit foundation. With over 20 years of experience as both a hairstylist and entrepreneur, she is now celebrating the 13th anniversary of Laced Hair. The past 13 years have been a journey of discovery and success for Laced Hair. Lacy has managed to be a CEO of a successful company while also launching The Laced Academy and The Laced Hair Foundation in the meantime.
After graduating from beauty and hair school in 2002, Lacy made her stylist debut in Las Vegas and quickly became one of the most sought-after celebrity hairstylists in the industry, building a widespread reputation as the go-to hair extension specialist in the process.
When working at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, she had several A-list clients ranging from celebrities to musicians. To this day, stars like Pamela Anderson and Sarah Evans love wearing Laced Hair. With festival season upon us, Laced Hair Extensions are the perfect addition to complete the look and have been seen on different Coachella goers. More recently, Laced Hair has appeared on the iconic red carpeted Met steps for the 2022 Met Gala. Ashley Park, 'Emily In Paris' star, wore Laced Hair Extensions to complete her elegant look. Ashley Benson has been a big fan of the Laced Hair Extensions and has worn them on and off the screen. Stars love to add volume and drama to their performances, like Charli D'Amelio in Episode 31 of Dancing With the Stars.
Throughout all of the success that Laced Hair has had over the past 13 years, what has kept Lacy motivated has been her growing community and the impact she sees through instilling confidence in women through the impressive transformations hair extensions offer. Lacy built Laced Hair to embody the values of empowerment, authenticity, inner beauty, and acceptance. Laced Hair stands apart from other brands in the industry through quality and innovation; from the beginning, Lacy’s goal was to fill the gap in the hair extensions market that she saw for unique colors, blends, and high-quality hair extensions. Laced Hair has extensions to fit different every client’s preferences, from multiple weft options, tape-ins, clip-ins, keratin, and more. She was one of the first hair extension brands on the market to offer rooted and ombré blends and pre-packaged color blends. Lacy wants her brand to keep the end client and stylist in mind, so no matter what, there is an easy way to find the perfect match for every head of hair.
Beyond Laced Hair Extensions, Lacy has launched an education program, Laced Academy, that offers online and in-person certification options for multiple extension installations for hairstylists looking to expand their careers. The Laced Academy has thousands of certified stylists across the U.S. and Canada utilizing the Laced methods! The Laced Academy's goal is to provide the highest quality of extension training available to stylists and to uplift all of them to optimize their income and give clients the significant transformation they have been dreaming of. Lacy has worked on formalizing a robust education structure that is widely recognized as one of the best on the market. As a stylist herself, Lacy has developed products, methods and education all designed for a hairstylist. Her education, products, and tools are the best they can possibly be to take each Laced Certified hairstylists' careers to the next level.
Lacy feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to have a successful career as a hairstylist and is now CEO of a successful brand. As the result of some significant health challenges, Lacy suffered personal hair loss. During this time, Lacy met other women suffering from hair loss, and she knew that with her brand she could help other women to regain some of their lost confidence through hair. When Lacy lost over 70% of her natural hair through her illness treatment, she realized the power of a "good hair day" and how "just hair" can offer hope to others going through a similar situation. What emerged from this period in Lacy’s life is the Laced Hair Foundation, a non profit dedicated to supporting women suffering from hair loss. Ultimately, the Laced Hair Foundation exists to restore confidence to women, arming them to face whatever challenges come their way. Lacy has successfully had two annual Hair for Hope Galas, which have raised tens of thousands of dollars to kick off new chapters for the Foundation to source and donate extensions and even wigs to women who are suffering from hair loss.
Lacy is an inspiration and friend to everyone that knows her or her story. She understands the need for women's empowerment and how much hair can fuel inner confidence. From her passion for educating other hairstylists through the Laced Academy to her willingness to give back to others through the Laced Hair Foundation to creating and launching reputable, great-quality hair extensions, she is a force to be reckoned with. Here’s to another 13 years of success for Laced Hair.
